Pallet Wall Update

Are you sick of the damn pallet wall yet? Honestly. Be honest. I am.

Okay, so maybe I really am a little sick of the pallet wall, but the reason I wanted it was to hang cool stuff on it. We tried the wallpaper on one side. blah. We have painted the slats black. bleh. And here we are... with our latest... da da da daaaaa......

Bam.

And then the other side....

BAM!

And then a few angles.....

New Art

I am so excited about this new purchase, that I had to blog about it right away. I have seen this on a few of my fav blogs and finally decided to jump off the ledge and spend the whopping $4.50 to get me my own. I think it's going to live on the "dining" side of the pallet wall. (I will post the official pics once I actually recieve this pretty paper and frame it and hang it.) Purchased from Paper Mojo.

Here is a little taste of it on LGN:

Here it is on Kristen Davis Designs:

Also, will post another pallet wall project later next week too..... hint... it includes wall paper. Crap. I think that pretty much gave it away.

Native, Rustic, Modern?

I have been thinking about adding a little native american touches (specifically a rug) into our loft space. I think it is safe to say that our style is officially: rustic, modern, contemporary, urban. haha. Why not add "bohemian" to that list? No, but seriously. I think just some subtle adds would really bring some warmth to the place. Here are a few inspirational pics I have found on the blogs this week.....

Flea Market Finds

Greetings from across the pond. I am working from London for the next few weeks! How awesome is that? Feeling pretty special. I just got here today and am just about to crash as I have just finished my dinner: BBQ Pringles, Chickpea Salad, Red Wine, and a Tylenol PM for dessert... this post could get weird.

Before I left the Hubs and I spent a wonderful Sunday morning at the Alameda Flea Market. This place is no joke! They have 300+ antique vendors with gadgets and gizmos a-plenty. They've for who's its and what's its galore. You want thing-a-ma-bobs? They've got 20. (okay, that was a random Little Mermaid quote, told you the jet lag/wine/pill post could get interesting.)

So here are some of the finds that made it home with us....

Some Edif Piaf, Ray Charles, and Creedance. 3- for $10.00 Enjoyed listening to Edif while I hastily packed for my trip which will include a short weekend in Paris. whoop whoot.

No joke-- I was on a mission to find a bronze elephant and book ends to accessorize a new bookshelf... and would you believe we found ....

This is actually also a little "before and after". Babar on the left has been polished... the one on the right is how they came. What a difference a little bronze cleaner can do.

And finally, our most appreciated find; an interesting mid century pendant lamp.

Bunt-astic

So I don't have any parties to throw and don't have any reason to make anything cute with garland or bunting... but was playing around on Pinterest and made a board about Bunting. Here are a few of the darlings I loved. Bunting is cute. I like.
Only party on the calendar is a Super Bowl party- not sure it's appropriate, but maybe I will make a cake and make a little bunting for the cake. But what colors would they be??

For the record, I did make a couple of cute bunts for our wedding. One that said just married out of burlap. It never made it out of the box. Having a day of coordinator, might have been a good idea!

Note to self

If one day I am lucky enough to be able to design our own kitchen... make sure there is a fireplace in it.

I have the BEST friends who made me the BEST gift. I feel so bad that it is already November and my birthday was back in September. I feel bad that it has taken me so long to post this. I blame my laziness to upload photos. Actually, I blame myself for not having better pictures really.

For thank yous for a beautiful bridal shower, I gifted them vintage Vera scarves. They keep the theme on my 30th by creating a darling pillow made from a vintage Vera scarf. Lia hand stitched the music quote which really could not be more perfect. This is certainly not a couch throw pillow. This pillow deserves it's own chair or bed. I truly cherish it! How lucky am I to have such thoughtful loving friends in my life??

Lust & Must

Husband is lusting on this $200 desk lamp from Restoration Hardware (What was he even doing in that store to begin with?). He is the cutest. I say second picture could be a "must" because it's $59 ( West Elm).

Subway Signs

I first discovered subway signs at the Alameda Flea Market. They were vintage, of course, and sold for about $1600 bucks. They are beautiful and big and would look so lovely in any home. After doing a little research, I found an ETSY vendor (okay, research wasn't that hard) who creates these subway signs for about $40 bucks. I would absolutley love one of these to hang in our apartment. And wouldn't it be a great gift for someone? How cute would it be to list our old street names of old apartments my husband and I have lived in? Or for a traveler, to list out their most exciting destinations? Or for a family who live far apart, to list our cities to remind us of each other?

Of course, I chose this one with all the San Francisco hot spots. :) I also found another option for custom "vintage replicas" here. Here are some pretty interiors with subway signs.

Greens in Glass.

I am seriously kicking myself from not buying the adorable little terrarium at the Indy craft festival in Potrero Hill yesterday and then was reminded while perusing the blogs that I LOVE LOVE LOVE these darling wall bubbles from the beloved Flora Grubb. The Indy Mart had a booth for Workshop. This place is amazing. They have tons of DIY classes from screen printing to sewing. Each class runs about $10-$40 bucks and many are in the evening on the weekends, so instead of watching netflix episodes of Dexter, we can be drinking a bottle of wine and building terrariums. (Although, I think I might prefer to set up a DIY class hosted at our house, taught by the talented Megan Keely! ) Must add that to list of things to discuss.

** Pic from Workshop. Blog**

I have been swooning over Flora Grubb stuff a ton lately. See here. I will absolutely be stopping by there this weekend, even if just for a nicely brewed cup of Ritual Coffee.

Wouldn't these Flora Bubbles be lovely on a large white wall (since we have a GIGANTIC one in our loft)? I wonder if I could dumb it down (aka - a cheaper option), but using some of the cheaper vases at CB2?
